📄 Terms of Service – Auth Sync: Safe & Secure 2FA

Welcome to Auth Sync: Safe & Secure 2FA (“the app”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

1. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) to use the app.

  • If you are under 18, you must have consent from a parent or guardian.

  • By using the app, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

2. Use of the App

  • Offline usage: You can use most features, including generating and storing TOTP codes, password generation, Base64 encoding/decoding, and temporary email, without creating an account.

  • Optional login: Creating an account is only required for Cloud Sync, Cloud Restore, or multi-device sharing.

  • End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): TOTP secrets and sensitive data are encrypted on your device before being transmitted. We cannot read your codes.

  • License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal use only, in accordance with these Terms.

3. User Responsibilities

By using the app, you agree to:

  • Keep your login credentials, recovery keys, and encryption passphrases secure.

  • Not share your account with others or allow unauthorized use.

  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute the app without permission.

  • Use the app only for lawful purposes and in compliance with local regulations.

You are solely responsible for safeguarding your TOTP secrets and backup data. Loss of your encryption keys may result in permanent loss of access to your data.

4. Accounts and Sync Services

  • Account creation: If you choose to create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information (such as email, Apple ID, or Google ID).

  • Cloud Sync: Data stored in the cloud is encrypted end-to-end. We cannot decrypt your data.

  • Account termination: You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, all associated cloud data will be permanently erased.

  • Suspension: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in misuse (e.g., abuse of temporary email, unlawful activity).

5. Premium Features & Payments (if applicable)

  • Certain features may be offered as part of a Premium subscription (e.g., unlimited sync, advanced sharing, priority support).

  • Payments and subscriptions are handled through the App Store or Google Play. Their terms and policies also apply.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.

  • We do not offer refunds except as required by law or the policies of the platform (Apple/Google).

6. Data & Privacy

Key points:

  • We do not sell your personal data.

  • We cannot access your TOTP secrets due to end-to-end encryption.

  • Minimal information is collected (e.g., account email, crash reports) to operate the service.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The app, its design, trademarks, and content are owned by 1TimeTech (or our licensors).

  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit any part of the app without our written permission.

  • All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

8. Disclaimers

  • No guarantee of recovery: If you lose your device, encryption keys, or backup, we may not be able to recover your TOTP data.

  • Service availability: While we strive for uptime and reliability, we do not guarantee that the app or cloud services will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

  • Third-party services: The app may rely on Apple, Google, or other third parties. We are not responsible for their availability or actions.

  • As-is basis: The app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

  • Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) for Premium features in the 12 months preceding the claim.

  • You assume all responsibility for securing your data and devices.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your misuse of the app or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on our official website. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law
